The Wells Mountain Initiative (WMI)-is a public charity organization with a base in Bristol, Vermont, that has received Section 501(c) approval from the Internal Revenue Service of the United States (3). By offering student scholarships and skill development to talented young people in poor countries, WMI seeks to bring about social change via education and community building, creating a network of grassroots leaders who are igniting local change. WMI offers assistance to students each year as they work toward a range of educational goals. Assistance is offered for post-secondary education (university, polytechnic, trade school). Financial assistance is usually used to pay for school fees, tuition, and directly connected costs like books and supplies. The WMI scholarship does not necessarily pay for all of the student’s tuition and related costs
Scholarship recipients must maintain good academic standing, engage in volunteer work, and meet WMI deadlines for submitting an official copy of their school/course grades, finishing the semester report, and validating their community service hours. Scholarships are typically awarded for the entire period of study. In the event of subpar performance and/or dishonesty, the scholarship may be terminated at any moment.
